Information for New Applicants


If you will be entering MSU for the first time, you must be officially admitted to the university in order to submit your housing preferences.  You may now apply for admission to the university.  Once you are admitted to the university, a myMSU account will be created for you.  If you have been admitted, you may log onto myMSU using your MSU NetID and NetPassword.  Housing assignments are made based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your date of application for admission, your roommate request and his/her date of application for admission, your participation in learning communities, and others.  Housing preferences, roommate requests, and reservation fees submitted and received prior to April 1 will receive priority consideration for housing assignments.  For more information, or if you are a graduate student or returning student, go to www.housing.msstate.edu/apply/

If you are currently enrolled at MSU and are requesting housing for the first time or if you once lived on campus and now wish to return to on-campus housing, please contact the Department of Housing and Residence Life at housing@saffairs.msstate.edu or (662) 325-3555 for instructions for submitting your housing request.
